Objective
Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- ships classification surveys significance in maintenance
- dry-dock procedures
- maintenance docking; pricing, budgeting and quotations, docking plans
- preparations for dry-docking
- machinery insurances
Content
- dockyard types and docking business
- newbuilds and supervising
- quotations and pricing for maintenance work

- preparations for periodic drydocking

- survey intervals and different procedures for ship types
- machinery insurances
Evaluation
Students can
- use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations
- evaluate operations in customer, user and target group situations
- choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices
- promote teams’ goal-oriented operation
In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code table A-III/2 column 4 are used:
- maintenance activities are correctly planned and carried out in accordance with technical, legislative, safety and procedural specifications
