Objective

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- basics of measurement technologies
- basics of control and monitoring technologies
- basics of automation systems

Content

- concepts of automation
- basic measurements
- instrumentation
- structures of controllers and control circuits
- structures of automation systems
- PI diagram

Evaluation

Students can
- use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations
- choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices
- work as team members in working life expert duties and identify and describe the problems of the professional field

In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code table A-III/6 column 4 are used:
- operation of equipment and system is in accordance with operating manuals
- performance levels are in accordance with technical specifications
