You are able to find, study, produce and critically evaluate multidisciplinary foresight information about the changes in the customer behavior and business environment of hospitality services.
You are able to utilize your foresight and innovation knowhow in solving demanding problems in experience and service business.
You are able to evaluate and justify the importance of foresight and innovations in managing and developing hospitality business at strategic level.

How do you find, study, produce and critically evaluate multidisciplinary foresight information about the changes in the customer behavior and business environment of hospitality services?
How do you use your foresight and innovation knowhow in solving demanding problems in experience and service business?
What is the meaning of foresight and innovations in managing and developing hospitality business and in strategic decision-making?

Arviointi

Students can
a) evaluate and make critical use of multidisciplinary foresight information about the changes in the customer behavior and business environment of hospitality services.
b) solve creatively complex problems in research, development and innovation.
e) evaluate and justify the importance of foresight and innovations in managing and developing hospitality business at strategic level.
f) communicate and interact in demanding international contexts of their field of expertise.

Opiskelumuodot ja -menetelmät

This course provides the students with the opportunity to explore and develop their understanding of a range of trends and issues relating to the international hospitality and service industry, as well as to examine the implications of these trends and issues for the management of hospitality businesses, and how change can be implemented and managed. The students will explore the current state of the industry and make educated predictions as to the future of hospitality and service industries.

RDI examples and cases will be studied.

Tenttien ja tehtävien ajoittuminen

The course will include scheduled tasks. All course tasks are to be fulfilled by a certain deadline. The deadlines of each assignment and studied topic will be indicated in the beginning of the course in the course page in Xamk Learn.

Kansainvälinen yhteistyö

The course is using materials about international business services and related material.

Opiskelijan työmäärä

The course is 5 ECTS and it is to be completed in English. 1 ECTS means approximately 27 hours of student workload related to studying the course material, fulfilling the course assignments and acting as a group member. Contact days 5 x 8 hours, independent learning, group work and assignments 135 hours totally.

Arviointimenetelmät ja arvioinnin perusteet

The course will be assessed on a 1-5 scale, where 1 is "fair" and the lowest acceptable grade and 5 is "excellent" and the highest grade. Each task will be assessed individually and as the certain percentage of the final grade.
