Objective

You know the characteristics of a good indoor environment.
You are familiar with the current legislation governing the quality of indoor air in buildings.
You can describe the impacts of climate change on the quality of indoor air in buildings.
You can identify and assess methods to prepare for the effects of climate change in buildings.

Content

What kind of characteristics are typical for good indoor environment?
How do building conditions affect people's health and comfort?
How is the quality of indoor air regulated by legislation?
What are the impacts of climate change on buildings and indoor environmental conditions?
What methods can be used to prepare for and adapt to the effects of climate change in buildings?

Course material

Study materials are provided by the teacher in class or via the Learn platform.

Study forms and methods

• The course is carried out entirely by way of unscheduled online study. / The course is mainly carried out by way of unscheduled online study but it also has scheduled online lessons. The scheduled online lessons entail work in groups / require active participation. Participation in scheduled online lessons is mandatory/not mandatory. Participation in the start session is mandatory. The teacher provides guidance during scheduled online lessons and by e-mails/via Learn platform.
• Studies are carried out on the Learn platform. Access to the platform opens on the starting day of the course. As a rule, scheduled online lessons are carried out .... In addition to having an internet connection, the students must also have a video and audio connection during online lessons.
• Progress is made by completing assignments individually/in groups and taking an exam/exams which are introduces in the beginning of studies.
• The assessed assignments are completed individually/in groups/in pars. The assignments must be submitted by the given deadlines.
• Feedback is provided by different methods, in writing and/or orally. Also, peer feedback can be used.

RDI and work-related cooperation

Guest lectures will be given by representatives from the world of work.

Timing of exams and assignments

An assignment must be completed at the end of each section of the course.The end date of the course is presented in the course details. By this date, the student must submit all assignments for an approved course completion. The course is completed by assignments that are assessed according to specified criteria. There is no exam in this course.

• 1 ECTS credits equals 27 hours of work by the student.
• In a 5-credit course, the student's total maximum workload is approximately 135 hours including lessons, group work and independent study.

The student’s performance is assessed with reference to the learning objectives and assessment criteria of the course. The course completion requires that all assignments are assessed with a passing grade.
