You understand the key technologies in the operation of the Internet an their role in a broader context.
You are aware of the cyber threats posed by the Internet.

Content

What are the key bodies that govern the operation of the Internet?
How is the Internet structured?
What are the key technologies required for the Internet to function?
How does information move between Internet services and users?
How does the Internet's domain name service function?
How does a broadband connection function?
How do I protect myself from threats and operate safely on the Internet?

Course material

Online self-study material, online resources and virtual laboratory exercises. The study materials will be published in the Learn environment during the course.

Study forms and methods

The course is mainly completed by participating in in-person teaching according to the schedule, whereby studies progress according to the group's schedule and at the pace of independent exercises. The theory of the topic is discussed and exercises are done together during face-to-face teaching hours.

Timing of exams and assignments

The course includes weekly learning assignments.

Student workload

Achieving the learning outcomes requires 135 hours of work of which about quarter is contact lessons and laboratory exercises and the rest is self study, practise exams and virtual laboratory exercises.

Assessment is based on learning activities, laboratory exercises and online exams
