You know factors associated with aging people's learning.
You know the basic principles of educational gerontology.
You know the basics of aging people's guidance and teaching in different situations and operating environments.
You are familiar with aging people's teaching and guidance methods.
You know the psychical changes related to aging and aging people's psychical and social functioning.
You know the basic terminology and research topics of geropsychology.
You understand the special and diverse nature of old age.
You can analyse the meanings of gerontological theories.
Content
How does aging affect learning, sensory function, memory and intelligence?
What components affect aging people's working and recreational activities?
How is aging taken into account in organising education and guidance?
What are psychical aging changes and social functioning?
How is aging experienced and what is experiential aging?
Evaluation
Students can
a. use professional vocabulary systematically.
b. look for information in the key information sources of the field.
c. identify interrelated tasks.
d. work together with customers/clients, users and target groups.
e. use the key models and methods of the professional field.
f. justify your actions according to the ethical principles of the professional field.
