Objective
You are able to express yourself in Finnish in the most common everyday care situations both orally and in writing.
You are able to use simple phrases, basic sentences and vocabulary from levels A1.1-A1.2 in situations such as introductions, meals and other everyday care situations.
You can pronounce and write in Finnish.
You are familiar with key grammatical phenomena, such as vowel harmony, the present tense of common verbs and the singular partitive.
You are also able to expand your vocabulary and knowledge of language usage independently using different sources.
You become more familiar with the Finnish culture and working life.

What kind of language is Finnish compared to other languages you know?
What are the special features of Finnish?
How to pronounce and spell in Finnish?
Which phrases and what kind of knowledge of the Finnish language and culture are needed in everyday care situations?
Which sources and tools can you use in order to learn elementary Finnish during the course and independently?

Lessons five times a week and assignments along the course.
RDI and work-related cooperation
Basic language skills for working and studying life communication situations.Some integration to nursing studies included.
Timing of exams and assignments
The assignments and examinations are done during the course time. The re-examination possibility is within one year. See the more detailed description on the Learn platform.
