Objective

You explore historical influences in art and design, analyzing various styles and eras to inform and direct your own creative work.
You understand the historical context of games and the history of video games in relation to other forms of visual culture.
You understand the legal ramifications of using reference material.

Content

What are the major art movements throughout history, and how have they influenced design?
How have different historical eras influenced design principles and aesthetics?
What is the historical context of video games, and how have games evolved over time?
How do cultural and technological advancements influence the evolution of art, design, and games?

Course material

Lectures, videos, links and tutorials on Learn.

Study forms and methods

The course consists of unscheduled online study, supplemented by scheduled online lessons. Your active participation in these scheduled lessons is mandatory.
You will conduct your studies on the Learn platform, which becomes accessible on the course start date.
You must have an internet connection, as well as video and audio capabilities for online lessons.
You must complete and submit your assignments individually by the specified deadlines.

RDI and work-related cooperation

RD&i cooperation will be integrated if possible.

Further information

Students complete assignments independently with the help of instructions and video tutorials. In class, a student will receive feedback and deepen their expertise.
