Objective
Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- different types of oil and chemical tankers, general arrangement and construction
- basics of cargo systems and physical properties of oil and chemicals
- basics of cargo operations
- hazards associated with tanker operations
- basics of hazard controls
The course includes practical fire-fighting training at a certified fire training centre.

Study forms and methods
The course is carried out by way of contact teaching on Kotka campus according to a weekly schedule. Remote participation is not possible.
This training is required when applying for an additional certificate of competency for oil tanker cargo operations (V / 1-1.4) .
100% participation in the course is compulsory.
