Objective

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- planning maintenance procedures in compliance with relevant regulations and responsibilities
- following maintenance plans
- modernization of electrical systems

Content

- service and maintenance programs
- periodic inspections of electrical equipment
- class rules and surveys
- risk management

Evaluation

Students can
- use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations
- choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices
- work as team members in working life expert duties and identify and describe the problems of the professional field

In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code table A-III/6 column 4 are used:
- isolation, dismantling and re-assembly of plant and equipment are in accordance with manufacturer’s safety guidelines and shipboard instructions, legislative and safety specifications
- action taken leads to the restoration of control and safety systems by the method most suitable and appropriate to the prevailing circumstances and conditions
