Objective

You understand the key concepts and approaches related to welfare and rehabilitation.
You know the sociological, social and economic mechanisms in your working environment and understand their connections to the changes and strategic decisions in national and international welfare and rehabilitation policies.
You are familiar with the national rehabilitation service system and its core legislation.
You are able to monitor and benefit from multidisciplinary national and international research and development activities in the field of rehabilitation.

Content

What are the key concepts and approaches in rehabilitation?
How do political and administrative planning, control and decision-making influence the management and development of social and health care and rehabilitation?
What is the legal and ethical basis of the rehabilitation service system and how is it used to control the planning and development of operation?
Where is multidisciplinary research into rehabilitation found and how can it be applied?

Course material

Material is available in eLearning platform and students are supposed to use other relevant literature for the studies

Study forms and methods

This is an online course implemented by means of an eLearning platform (Learn and Teams) including webinars, group meetings, project work, independent tasks, peer discussions and seminars. The student must have a computer fitted with a web-cam and software necessary for the completion of studies and a microphone (head-set)

RDI and work-related cooperation

It is advised that written reports and other assignments are integrated into your own field of work with a focus on the development of rehabilitation practices.
This course includes integration to Xamk RDI-projects if possible
