Objective

You demonstrate familiarity with key research and development methods in technology, as well as with the philosophy of science.

Content

What are the fundamentals of the philosophy of science?
What are the concepts of science, the definition of knowledge, and the ethical principles of conducting scientific research?
What are the approaches of different fields to scientific research methods?
What are the key scientific methods in the field of technology?

Course material

The material provided on the Learn platform as well as the course literature given separately at the beginning of the cours

Study forms and methods

The course is conducted as a combination of face-to-face instruction, self-study on the Learn platform, and practical assignments.

RDI and work-related cooperation

The course does not have actual RDI (Research, Development, and Innovation) collaboration. However, the research plans prepared by students during the course can be integrated into real RDI work within the student's employer organization.

Timing of exams and assignments

Exams and deadlines are provided on the course's Learn platform. Deadlines are set within the start and end dates of the course.

Student workload

The student's workload corresponds to the scope and workload expressed in the course's credit points.
