Objective

You can communicate in familiar and usual everyday situations at level A1, with the help of your discussion partner.

You can write short and simple messages related to everyday situations.

You master basic grammatical structures typical of Swedish and you can use everyday vocabulary.

You comprehend short texts related to familiar everyday situations.

You have the basic pronunciation skills in Swedish.

You can use different tools for learning Swedish.

Content

What type of vocabulary and structures do you need in everyday communication situations and how do you apply them?

What are the rules of pronunciation and writing of Swedish?

What type of tools for learning Swedish can you use?

Evaluation

Students can:

a) use basic vocabulary and structures in familiar everyday communication situations
b) look for information in the key information sources, for example,  in dictionaries
c) identify everyday communication situations
d) communicate in familiar and everyday communication situations at beginners’ level

Course material

Study materials are provided by the teacher via the Learn platform.

Study forms and methods

The course is mainly carried out by way of unscheduled online study but it also has 11 scheduled online lessons.

Participation in scheduled online lessons is not mandatory. Online lessons are not recorded.

Studies are carried out on the Learn platform. Access to the platform opens no later than on the starting day of the course.

In addition to having an internet connection, the students must also have at least audio connection during online lessons.

RDI and work-related cooperation

During the course is being studied the basics of the Swedish language, which facilitates the ability to use the language in simple everyday communication situations.

Timing of exams and assignments

The end date of the course is presented in the course details. By this date, the student must submit all assignments, passing the online exam with an approved grade, and meet all other conditions set for an approved course completion.

The date of the exam will be informed on the Learn platform.

International cooperation

This course does not include international cooperation.

1 ECTS credits equals 27 hours of work by the student.

Assessment methods and criteria

The assesment is based on exam. Accepted completion of the course requires passing the online exam with an approved grade, as well as approved completion of other assignments related to completing the course.
The grading scale is 1-5.
