Objective
You will familiarize yourself with the legislation concerning the serving and sale of alcohol. The goal is to demonstrate knowledge in the alcohol serving competency test of the Alcohol Act (Alcohol Act (1102/2017) §§57 and 58 and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health Decree (158/2018 §§6 and 7) and the procedures for serving, selling, and self-monitoring in a restaurant.
An adult ( 18 years) who has passed the alcohol serving license test can act as the license holder's representative (formerly responsible manager) in a licensed restaurant, in which case they are responsible for complying with the Alcohol Act and the restaurant's self-monitoring plan.

The alcohol serving license test is conducted as a supervised computer-based test at Savonlinna campus. You can take the test on your own computer Identification will be checked before the test begins, so you must bring an official and valid ID, such as a passport.
The alcohol serving license test consists of 60 questions, of which 80% must be answered correctly to pass. If the test is not passed on the first attempt, we will arrange two (2) retests, which will be held immediately after the first test.

Assessment methods and criteria
The test is graded as pass/fail. To pass, you must achieve 80% correct answers. The test can be retaken twice.
