Objective

You can measure timber with the most common systems. You can describe how bucking is controlled in the CTL system. You can self-study a new timber measurement system. You become familiar with timber measurement systems applied in international trade.

How can timber be measured in different conditions?
How can the reliability of the measurement method be pinned down?
What statutes apply to timber measurement?

Students can

Lecture and field teaching. Learning tasks in groups.

Measurement exercises on behalf of a business partner.

Student workload

The course (5 ECTS) corresponds to 135 hours of student work. In addition to supervised study, the workload includes the student's independent study.
