Objective
Learn the fashion and style theories. Deepen the target group and customer-oriented thinking. The objective is to design and experiences to users.
After the course, the student will be able to:
1 cr
- to study the different trends, styles, lifestyle, and the cultural topics of products
- produce a service applying and shaping existing products considering the needs of the target group
- fashion and style theories
2 credits
- understand the importance of brand-building and opportunities in the contexts: the production of experience and events, concrete products, such as clothing collections and costumes
- learn the criteria of visual marketing and design the visual image and marketing material
- target group thinking and customer-oriented approach in product / service marketing
2 credits

Content
The student
- knows the theories of style and fashion (Simmel, Bourdieu, Schulze) and analyze according them different kind of experience worlds
- adapt his/her vision to the style and values of the client
- apply the international trend-information to his/her design, become familiar with the fair functions and exploit the information of the agencies, which supply the materials
- observe and collect data related to the changing phenomenon of fashion and interior design
- analyze his/her selected topic from different view points of different theories
Carry out an exercise, where the student defines the client or target group and create a product or service, which serves his/her values, hopes and needs. The client / presentative of the target group takes part in the design process from the beginning.
Evaluation
Excellent (5) result requires
- a functional and something new containing proposal, which fit to the target group's style.
- a justifying treatise with references.
- use of sources is an interpretive and analytical
Good (3-4) result requires
- diligent working with the product and the customer involved.
- written output will reach a level of description, where the sources are used schematically.
Satisfactory (2-1) result is assigned to the execution, where there will be output/product, description and the associated self-assessment.
