Tavoitteet
The course examines the concept of seasonality in tourism. Tourism is a seasonal activity that depending on climatic conditions and travelers’ leisure time. After the course student knows the meaning of seasonality in tourism and is proficient in planning, implementing and assessing tourism products and services associated with climate and the seasons of the year.

You will become proficient in a wide range of skills applicable to tourism.
– What is the meaning of seasonality in tourism?
– How seasonality influence on destination’s bed nights, total numbers of visits?
– How a tourist company could use seasonal tourism fluctuations?

Tourism is a seasonal activity that depends on climatic conditions and travelers’ leisure time, strongly linked to the school and work holidays. It has been generally accepted that seasonality in tourism occurs due to natural and anthropogenic factors, which can be classified as natural and institutional.
This course will be useful to those who is planning to study or is already studying tourism. Those who is interested in the topic are also welcome.

You will be able to:
- identify seasonality in tourism
- understand how seasonality influence on the number of overnight stays at the destination, the total number of visits
- take advantage of seasonal fluctuations for the travel company
