Objective

You are able to describe the most common operations that cause soil pollution and understand the behaviour of contaminants in the environment. You are able to assess the amount of pollution, environmental and health risks and also know the main methods for the remediation of contaminated soil and legislation.

Content

What are the activities, compounds and conditions that can lead to soil pollution?
What are the environmental and health risks associated with soil contamination?
What are the factors and areas affected by the contamination of the soil and the need for clean definition?
What are the methods for cleaning contaminated soil?

Evaluation

Students can
a. use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations.
b. evaluate information sources critically.
e. choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices.
