Objective

You are able to define what clean technologies (cleantech) mean and what areas of technologies are included in clean technologies.
You are able to validate the advantages and disadvantages of clean technologies compared to conventional technologies and you are able to express reasons for the rapid growth of clean technologies and the cleantech sector in general.
You acquire general insights considering the scenarios of clean technologies in the 21st century.
You learn to specify cleantech development organizations and companies and how to apply environmental know-how in business.

Content

What are regarded as clean technologies?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of clean technologies and how to justify the reasons for them?
What are the current and future development trends in the sector?
What are cleantech development organizations and companies?
How to apply environmental know-how in business?

Evaluation

Students can
a. use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations.
b. evaluate information sources critically.
e. choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices.
g. apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations.

Study materials are teacher-provided handouts and electronic material in Learn.

Scheduled track:
The course consists of lectures, exercises.
In addition, students are required to complete homework assignments.
