Objective

You can search data from the key social and health care databases.
You can run specified searches and examine the search results in terms of how they meet your needs and, if necessary, correct your own actions.
You can critically read and evaluate scientific publications, taking into account the aspects related to research ethics and reliability.
You understand the principles of scientific writing and you can apply them to your thesis.
You understand the concept of evidence-based practice (EBP), and its importance in social and health care field.
You understand the information theoretical premises for research methods.
You know the key research strategies and methods used in social and health care.
You are familiar with the thesis process as described in Xamk instructions.

Study forms and methods

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Osallistut työjärjestyksen mukaiseen opetukseen ja ohjaukseen. Opiskelusi rytmittyvät työjärjestyksen mukaisten ryhmätapaamisten ja itsenäisesti tehtävien oppimistehtävien mukaan.

Opintoja nopeuttava oppimisväylä:
Jos työskentelet alan yrityksessä, organisaatiossa tai korkeakoulun tarjoamassa projektissa, voit suorittaa opintojakson tai moduulin työpaikallasi/projektissa joko kokonaan tai osittain. Tällöin olet yhteydessä opintojakson alussa opintojakson opettajaan ja sovit työpaikallesi/projektille tehtävästä kehittämistehtävästä. Oppiminen edellyttää, että työssäsi perehdyt opintojaksolla käsiteltäviin teemoihin ja hallitset ne sekä teoriassa että käytännössä. Osoitat osaamisesi osaamisen näyttönä, jonka laajuus määräytyy opintojakson oppimistavoitteiden mukaan.

Työhön integroitu oppimisväylä:
Voit nopeuttaa opintojasi opintojen keskivaiheilta alkaen esimerkiksi osallistumalla aiemmin aloittaneen ryhmän opintojaksoille tai valitsemalla opintojaksojen verkkototeutuksia kesäopintoina. Tällöin perehdyt itsenäisesti Moodlessa olevaan materiaaliin ja teet tarvittavat oppimistehtävät. Oppimistehtävät sisältävät työviikkopohjaisen oppimisväylän toteutukseen suhteutettuna enemmän itsenäistä aiheeseen tutustumista. Myös kesäaikana toteutettu työelämäharjoittelu voi nopeuttaa opintojasi. Kesäajan harjoittelut on suunniteltava hyvissä ajoin etukäteen.
