Objective

The aims are chosen according to the training place (hospital or orthotics lab) Hospital practice You master the podiatric needs and care of special groups and you are able to evaluate and follow the results of the treatment . You understand the principles of treatment of foot ulcers and the different stages of patient care process. You can give individual guidance to the patient, taking into account the patient's overall well-being and home care circumstances. You understand the importance of footwear, special aids and offloading. You understand the importance an meaning of multi-professional collaboration, both from the patient's and the medical staff's perspective. Orhotics lab practice You know how the orthotics lab unit operates. You will deepen your knowledge of various matters related to aids, orthotics, footwear and prostheses. You know the acquisition processes of special footwear and orthotics and deepen your skills in giving individual instructions to the client or patient about the use of aids. You make insoles in orthotics lab by different manufacturing techniques. You use all possibilities to cherish multi-professional collaboration in the orthotics lab.

Orthotics lab training How do prosthetics and orthotics lab units operate? How do you broaden your understanding of different kinds of aids, orthoses, footwear and prostheses? How do you instruct the customer/patient in how to use the aid? How do you make insoles by different manufacturing methods? How do you cherish multi-professional collaboration in an orthotics lab unit?

Study forms and methods

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Osallistut työjärjestyksen mukaiseen harjoitteluun. Opiskelusi rytmittyvät työjärjestyksen mukaisten ryhmätapaamisten ja itsenäisesti tehtävien oppimistehtävien mukaan.

Opintoja nopeuttava oppimisväylä:
Mikäli olet jalkaterapeutin työssä, voit suorittaa harjoittelun osittain tai kokonaan ajankohtana, jonka olet sopinut harjoittelusta vastaavan opettajan kanssa. Työnkuvassa tulee olla harjoittelun tavoitteita vastaavia työtehtäviä. Osallistut harjoitteluun liittyviin seminaareihin. Harjoittelun lopuksi annat näytön osaamisesta ohjaavalle opettajalle.

Työhön integroitu oppimisväylä:
Suoritat harjoittelun ajankohtana, jonka olet sopinut harjoittelusta vastaavan opettajan kanssa. Osallistut harjoitteluun kuuluviin seminaareihin.

Assessment of Advanced podiatric training in working life II: Pass / Fail / Needs to be complemented Self-evaluation and teacher's/supervisor's evaluation. Proficient developer: 7th term, graduation level 3 a-g. You are able toa. use professional terminology systematically. b. look for information in the key information sources of the field. c. identify interrelated tasks. d. work together with customers, users and target groups. e. use the key models, methods, software and techniques of the professional field. f. work as a goal-oriented team member. g. justify your actions according to the ethical principles of the professional field.
