Objective

Preclinical training and Clinical training
You can work according to the values and ethical principles of nursing.
You can assess the need, aims and means of patient care and evaluate the care.
You can carry out the most common nursing tasks and know the principles of nursing that promotes rehabilitation.
You can meet the nursing needs by using the nursing functions and recording them according to the structural model.
You implement the principles of safe medication.
You apply the principles of aceptics and preventing infections in nursing.
You know the principles regarding safety and patient safety in the health care environment.
You understand your professional responsibilities and duties, and you are able to ensure and promote patient safety.
You systematically evaluate the condition of a patient and recognise patients that need urgent care.
You master the basic CPR and can use a defibrillator.

How do you take into consideration the values and ethical principles of nursing in your work?
How do you assess the patient’s need and aims for care and how do you meet them with nursing activites?
How do you record the nursing process according to the structural model?
How do you carry patients' systematic assessment according to the ABCDE protocol?
How do you take advantage of the NEWS criteria and the ISBAR consultation model in a patient safe environment?
How do you carry out nursing that promotes rehabilitation?
How do work in an ergonomic manner?
How do collegiality and teamwork advance nursing?
What are the prerequisites for a patient's basic care?
How do you act according to the principles of aceptics and preventing infections?
How do you carry out nursing actions?

Evaluation

Students can:
• use professional vocabulary systematically.
• look for information in the key information sources of the field.
• identify interrelated tasks.
• work together with customers / patients and work as team members.
• use the key methods and techniques of the nursing.
• justify their actions according to the ethical principles of the professional field.

Course material

Kliinisen hoitotyön perusteet opintojakson teoriaopinnot ja materiaali.
Sosiaali- ja terveyspalveluiden laatu ja turvallisuus opintojakson teoriaopinnot ja materiaali.
Lääkelaskut 1 oltava hyväksytysti suoritettu 1 kuukausi ennen harjoittelun alkua.

Study forms and methods

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Kliininen harjoittelu, hoitotyön perusteet on 6 op = 4 viikkoa työyksikössä tapahtuvaa kliinistä ohjattua työharjoittelua.

RDI and work-related cooperation

Harjoittelu tapahtuu perushoitotyön tai hoivatyön yksiköissä.
Harjoittelupaikat vartaan Jobiili-järjestelmän kautta erillisen ohjeen mukaan.

Student workload

Yksi työharjoitteluviikko tarkoittaa 38h kliinistä työharjoittelua työyksikössä, 4 viikkoa on yhteensä 152 tuntia työharjoittelua.

Assessment methods and criteria

Harjoittelun arviointi perustuu opintojakson yhteisiin sekä opiskelijan henkilökohtaisiin tavoitteisiin.
Työharjoittelun arviointi koostuu:
Opiskelijan kirjallisesta itsearvioinnista
Ohjaajan antamasta kirjallisesta arvioinnista
Ohjaavan opettajan kirjallisesta arvioinnista/arvosanasta
Työharjoittelussa harjoittelun ohjaajan antama jatkuva palaute ohjaa tavoitteiden saavuttamista.
Työharjoittelujaksosta käydään yhteinen arviointikeskustelu ja arviointi kirjataan jakson arviointilomakkeelle.
