Objective

You deepen your knowledge and skills concerning special groups in podiatry, that is, patients with exceptionally high tendency to suffer from foot lesions (the elderly, handicapped or people with an underlying disease such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis) which predispose foot problems. Other risk factors which cause feet strain are caused by burden of living such as poor nutrition, immobility, excessive alcohol and drug consumption, hobbies and sports that overload the feet.
You know the meaning of the international term "high risk foot". You master the preventive and conservative podiatric treatments and you also familiarize yourself with operative treatments.
You know the principles of wound care and you know how to apply the principles of offloading in the treatment of leg ulcers.
