Objective

You know the basics of the Finnish child protection and family work service system and the related legislation.
You are able to analyse the life situation of children, adolescents and families in changing society and assess the need for family work and child protection.
You study the values and operating principles of child protection and family work.
You identify the principles and stages of the child protection and family work process.
You know the main ethical principles, practices and methods when working with children, adolescents and families.

What is the child protection and family work service system and what legislation is related to it?
When is child protection necessary and how do you assess the need for support?
What are the main values and principles of child protection and family work?
What is the process of the client work in child protection and family work?

Evaluation

Students are able to
