Objective

You are able to explain the features of logistics services and are familiar with the global business environment of logistics service providers (LSPs) and their role in global demand-supply chains.
You are able to produce new effective customer-based service ideas using service matrices in your planning and plan the productization of logistics services.
You are familiar with the principle of activity-based costing and are able to use it in logistics service processes.
You are able to network with different operators, specialists and companies.
You are able to analyse the business of LSP.
You are aware of the requirements of sustainable development in the business operations of LSP.
You are able to develop a LSP business as an employee or entrepreneur.

What are the features of logistics services?
How do you plan and productize new logistics services?
What is LSP business and business environment?
How should the principles of sustainability be taken into account in LSP business?
What is the role of LSP in demand-supply chains?
How do you implement quality and environmental impact control systems in LSP?
What are the special features in developing logistics services?

Evaluation

The student is able to
a) use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations
c) work as team members in working life expert duties and identify and describe the problems of the professional field
d) evaluate operations in customer, user and target group situations
f) promote teams’ goal-oriented operation
g) apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations

Course material

Study forms and methods

Scheduled track:
The student proceeds according to the time schedule.

Independent track:
The course assignment can be made for the student´s own employer.

Blended track:
The student can take the course together with an older student group.
