Objective

You learn:
- the basics of clothing/fashion design: the effect of silhouette, proportions, rhythm, cut lines, colour/colours, decorative motives as well as the effect of chosen materials in the three dimensional form and design and further on to the image and looks of an garment/outfit
- the principles of a design brief, objectives and requirements, the factors leading to the target and the whole of the design process with different phases
- the terminology of clothing/fashion design and various creative solutions for the given assignment
- recognize and understand different alternative solutions and analyse phenomena that happen in colours, materials and structures during different time
- sanalyse changing trends in fashion and in visual styles on a broader scale
- strengthen abilities to forecast upcoming trends
- adopt commercial trend information for designing products for various customers and target groups

Content

In what ways can you practice your skills and personal view in terms of the principles of design?
How can you develop your design skills further by doing different kinds of assignments?
How can you study and analyse phenomena in present time, changing trends in fashion as well as the trend concept?

Evaluation

Students can

e. use the key models, methods, software and techniques of the professional field under guidance.
