You form an understanding of naprapathy as a profession and of research, treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders.

You know the role of naprapathy in the Finnish health care and rehabilitation system.

You understand the typical international terminology and nomenclature, and the basics of naprapathy profession.

You understand the importance of evidence-based information in the naprapathy profession.

Evaluation

Students can:

-make appropriate use of the terminology and professional concepts of naprapathy
- search for information in key information sources
- identify the incidence of musculoskeletal disorders
- identify national and international guidelines for the management of musculoskeletal disorders

Course part description

Perehdytään naprapatiaan ja naprapatian historiaan, naprapatiassa käytettäviin diagnostiikka- ja hoitomenetelmiin, sekä näyttöön perustuvaan lääketieteeseen. Harjoitellaan opinnoissa tarvittavaa tieteellisen tiedon hakua ja tieteellisten artikkeleiden lukemista. Pohditaan naprapaatin ammatti-identiteetin rakentumista opiskelun aikana.
