Public health nurse´s work of working age adults and elderly people (5 cr)

Objective

You know how to plan, implement and evaluate the working age, the workplace and - community health and ability to work to maintain and rehabilitative health nursing. You are able to explain the principles of good occupational practices. You are able to assess the work, and the workplace - effects on health environments. You know how to plan, implement and evaluate the necessary proposals for action on client (individual, family, group, work) to promote health. You are able to work in a multi-professional co-operation with various professional groups and partners. You are able to assess the health of the elderly, living conditions and life situation of the service need to increase the risk factors and control of available services. You are able to take for home health care.

What is occupational health service system and its contacts with stakeholders? What are the occupational health and safety, the relevant laws, policies and compensation practices? What is the public health nurse’s work of working-age adultas? What are the principles of good occupational practices? What are the main work-related illnesses and diseases?health conditions assessed? What is the occupational safety and health, and - ergonomics? How to promote to health and safety of work place and environmental? What is medical care in occupational health work? What are the elderly health checks and health promotion? How to support resources and capabilities of the elderly?

Study forms and methods

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Opintojakso koostuu työterveyshuollosta 2 op, työlääketieteestä 1 op, mielenterveys- ja päihdetyöstä 1 op ja ikääntyneen terveydenhoitajatyöstä 1op. Työlääketiede opiskellaan Itä-Suomen yliopiston verkkokurssina.

Assessment methods and criteria

Työlääketieteestä hyväksytty/hylätty tentti. Ikääntyneen terveydenhoitajatyöstä hyväksytty/hylätty tehtävä. Työterveyshuollon osuus arvioidaan numeraalisesti.
Työikäisen- ja ikäerityisen sekä ikäeettisen mielenterveys- ja päihdetyön osuudesta (2,0 op) Moodle-tentti.

b) Osaat etsiä tietoa alan keskeisistä tiedonlähteistä.
c) Osaat hahmottaa tehtäväkokonaisuuksia.
e) Osaat käyttää keskeisiä terveydenhoitajatyön malleja ja menetelmiä.
g) Osaat perustella toimintaasi oman alan eettisten periaatteiden mukaisesti.
