Nursing in acute and intensive care (5 cr)

Objective

Ethics and professionality in nursing
• you are able to represent your client’s best interests and present yourself as a nursing professional in various teams
• you are able to produce, share and utilize expert competence in multidisciplinary teams, networks and partnerships

Clinical nursing
• you are able to perform the main nursing procedures and diagnostic tests as part of the overall patient care
• you are able to determine the patient’s need for urgent or emergency care
• you are able to support patients in need of acute care and their families
• you are able to administer and evaluate safe pharmacological treatment on patients in need of acute and intensive care
• you are able to support the functional ability and participation of a disabled person
• you are able to perform humane symptomatic treatment on critically ill patients

Evidence-based practice and decision making
• you are able to determine the content of necessary treatment and plan the treatment process based on standard decision-making procedures in acute and intensive care
• you are able to actively utilize research knowledge (recommendations, reports based on research evidence) in your decision making

Patient education competence
• you manage patient education as a method in acute and intensive nursing

The operational environment in social and health care
• you master the use of the most important care and monitoring equipment needed in acute and intensive nursing

Assessment criteria level 3, competence during the completion phase.

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Anestesiologia ja teholääketiede, 1 op: Tentti. Tentti materiaali löytyy Learn:sta. Arviointi: hyväksytty -hylätty. (Hyväksytty suoritus edellyttää H3 -tasoa.)
Akuutti- ja tehohoitotyö 2,5op: Osallistuminen harjoituksiin. Lähiopetusten ja tentin suorittaminen (arviointi HYL - 5). Kurssin alussa ilmoitettavien tehtävien suorittaminen hyväksytysti (arviointi HYL - TÄYD - HYV).
Hätäsynnytys ja akuutti gynekologia 1 op: kysymykset yhteisessä tentissä. Hätäsynnytyksen hoidon laboraatioissa läsnäolovelvoite.
Kliininen laboratoriolääketiede 0,5 op: Learn-tentti. (Hyväksytty-hylätty)

Työhön integroitu oppimisväylä:
Perehdyt itsenäisesti Learn:ssa olevaan materiaaliin, teet tarvittavat suoritukset ja osallistut pakolliseen lähiopetukseen.

Osaat käyttää johdonmukaisesti akuutti ja tehohoitotyön käsitteitä eri tilanteissa.
Osaat suoriutua sujuvasti ennakoimattomista tehtäväkokonaisuuksista akuutti ja tehohoitotyössä.
Osaat soveltaa akuutti ja tehohoitotyön malleja ja menetelmiä sekä perustella niiden käyttöä.
Osaat soveltaa hoitotyön eettisiä periaatteita akuutti ja tehohoitotyön tilanteissa.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

Osaat käyttää asiantuntevasti akuutti ja tehohoitotyön käsitteitä eri tilanteissa.
Osaat huomata ja kuvata akuutti ja tehohoitotyön ongelmia.
Osaat valita tarkoituksenmukaiset mallit ja menetelmät akuutti ja tehohoitotyössä sekä perustella valinnan.
Osaat soveltaa kriittisesti hoitotyön eettisiä periaatteita akuutti ja tehohoitotyön tilanteissa .

Osaat käyttää laaja-alaisesti ja asiantuntevasti akuutti ja tehohoitotyön käsitteitä eri tilanteissa.
Osaat luovasti päätellä ja ratkaista akuutti ja tehohoitotyön ongelmia.
