Maternity and family nursing (5 cr)

Objective

Client-orientation
• you are able to support the involvement of the client’s family in the care and respecting the viewpoints and strengths of the client

Ethics and professionality in nursing
• you are able to produce, share and utilize expert competence in multidisciplinary teams, networks and partnerships

Clinical nursing
• you are familiar with the normal proceedings of pregnancy, labour and post-natal period, and you are able to monitor them
• you are able to support and promote the well-being of families with children
• you are able to support families in parenting and newborn care
• you are able to assess the need of urgent and emergency care
• you are able to support the functional ability and participation of a disabled person
• you are able to perfrom pharmacological treatment in maternity and family nursing

Evidence-based practice and decision making
• you are able to evaluate the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and assess nursing interventions according to the decision making process in maternity and family nursing
• you are able to utilize research knowledge (recommendations, reports based on research evidence) in nursing decision making in maternity and family nursing

Patient education competence
• you are able to manage patient education as a part of nursing work in maternity and family nursing

The operational environment in social and health care
• you are able to guide the client/patient to use the appropriate public, private and third sector social and health care services to promote his/her health and well-being

Assessment criteria level 3, competence during the completion phase.
You know how to
a. use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way
b. evaluate information sources critically
e. choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
LASTEN JA NUORTEN HOITOTYÖN OSA:
Teoriaopinnot 36 lähituntia työjärjestyksen mukaisesti lasten ja nuorten kehityksestä ja sairaanhoidosta sekä 30 tuntia itsenäistä opiskelua.

Opintoja nopeuttava oppimisväylä:
LASTEN JA NUORTEN HOITOTYÖN OSA:
Teoriaopintojen integroiminen työelämään ja työn opinnollistaminen edellyttää, että toimit sairaanhoitajan sijaisuudessa lasten osastolla tai poliklinikalla.

Työhön integroitu oppimisväylä:
LASTEN JA NUORTEN HOITOTYÖN OSA:
Teoriaopinnot voit suorittaa myös kirjatentteinä, mutta osallistuminen tähän opintojaksoon edellyttää, että sinulla on opetussuunnitelman mukaisesti suoritettuna hoitotyön perusopinnot ja sisätauti-kirurgiset opintojaksot.

RDI and work-related cooperation

Työviikkopohjainen väylä: Ensimmäinen suorituspäivä on määritelty työjärjestyksessä. Jos olet estynyt tulemaan ensimmäiseen suoritukseen tai saat hylätyn, voit suorittaa kirjalliset tentit ensimmäisen suorituskerran jälkeen, haluamaan yleisenä uusintatenttipäivänä.
Opintoja nopeuttava väylä: Ilmoittaudut yleiseen tenttipäivään suorittamaan kirjallisen kokeen.

LASTEN JA NUORTEN HOITOTYÖN OSA: 2,5 op = 67,5 tuntia
Työviikkopohjainen väylä: lähitunnit 36 h (ei läsnäolo velvoitetta, mutta osallistuminen ja aktiivisuus vaikuttavat arvosanaan!), kirjalliset kokeet 4 h ja itsenäinen opiskelu 27,5 h
Opintoja nopeuttava väylä: itsenäinen valmistautuminen tenttiin 63,5 tuntia ja kirjalliset kokeet 4 h.

Assessment methods and criteria

LASTEN JA NUORTEN HOITOTYÖN OSA:
Työviikkopohjainen väylä: Arvosana muodostuu kirjallisista kokeista lasten ja nuorten sairaanhoidosta (T1-K5 25 %) sekä lapsen ja nuoren kehitys (T1-K5 25 %), osallistumisesta lähitunneille (T1-K5 25 %) ja aktiivisuudesta lähitunneilla (T1-K5 25 %).
Opintoja nopeuttava väylä: Arvosana muodostuu kirjalliset kokeet (lapsen ja nuorne kehitys T1-K5 50 % + lasten ja nuorten sairaanhoito 50 %).

Assessment criteria, fail (0)

LASTEN JA NUORTEN HOITOTYÖN OSA:
Kirjallisessa kokeessa alle 40 % oikein kysytyistä asioita.

LASTEN JA NUORTEN HOITOTYÖN OSA:
Osaat perusasioita kehityspsykologiasta lasten ja nuorten sairaanhoidosta, mutta tiedon soveltaminen käytäntöön on puutteellista.

LASTEN JA NUORTEN HOITOTYÖN OSA:
Osaat perusasiat pääosin hyvin lapsen ja nuoren kehityksestä sekä lasten ja nuorten sairaanhoidosta ja osaat joissain määrin soveltaa tietoa käytäntöön.
