Clinical patient assessment (5 cr)

Objective

• you improve your comprehension of the normal/abnormal structure and function of the human body
• you understand the basics of clinical assessment techniques (inspection, palpation, auscultation, percussion) in a comprehensive patient clinical assessment from a nurse's perspective to support independent decision-making
• you understand the importance of patient history in a clinical assessment
• you are able to identify abnormal findings and situations that require consultation with a doctor
• you are able to independently carry out a patient clinical assessment using various assessment techniques and equipment in the context of a nurse's areas of competence
• you understand the differences between a nurse's and a doctor's areas of responsibility in clinical patient assessment

Evaluation

Competence in the completion phase.
You are able to:
a) expertly use professional terminology in various situations
b) critically assess your sources of information
c) select appropriate models, methods, software and techniques and justify your choice

anatomian kirja esim. Bjålie et. al. 2011 tai uudempi. Ihminen - fysiologia ja anatomia.

Study forms and methods

Teoria opiskellaan ajasta ja paikasta riippumattomina itsenäisinä verkko-opintoina 8.8. - 28.9.2021 välisenä aikana Learnissa. Sen rungon muodostavat vuorovaikutteiset H5P-asiantuntijaluennot.
