Objective

- You are familiar with the basic methods for model making and development.
- You are able to compare different methods with each other and choose the most suitable modeling method for each design task.
- You are capable of testing different forms and constructions using test models.
- You have knowhow of furniture and fixture models, spatial models and field models.

Content

- How to construct different models for furniture design, such as mock-ups and function models?
- How to select the right materials and work methods for model making?
- How to fit parts together with different fittings and joints?

Evaluation

The course "Modelling methods" is located in the entry-level of your studies. The assessment emphasizes criteria c and e. A student who has reached the level 3 is able to:
c. build aesthetic wholenesses.
e show material and production know-how.

Study forms and methods

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Kurssilla tehdään malleja maastoista, rakennuksista, sisätiloista ja kalusteista mittakaavaan,,esimerkiksi 1:10, Opiskellaan uusia materiaaleja, kuten lentokonevaneri, kapalevy, polyuretaan ja eps levyjen turvallinen käyttö.
Pyritään tekemään työt oikealle asiakkaalle,,esim. messuja varten.
