Objective

You are aware of the individual and special needs of children and the youth.
You can support individual growth and learning abilities of each child.
You know the service system of special education from early childhood education up to secondary school education.
You can define basic concepts and describe professional practices related with special education.
You can utilizise family-centred orientation as part of supporting children.
You know essential methods of special education.

What kind of special needs can children and young people have?
How can we support growth and learning abilities of children and young people?
What is the service system of special education like and how law and norms do guide special education?
What are the basic concepts of special education?
How is family-centered orientation taken into account within practices of special education?
What kind of methods are used among special education?

Evaluation

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Opiskelija osallistuu kontaktitunneille väli- ja tuntitehtävineen ja mahdollisille tutustumiskäynneille.

Itsenäistä opiskelua oppimistehtävien muodossa sekä kirjallisuustentti.

Opintoja nopeuttava oppimisväylä:
Sovi opintojen alkaesssa opettajan kanssa erikseen.

Työhön integroitu oppimisväylä:
Opintojakso on mahdollista suorittaa kokonaan Moodle-verkko-oppimisympäristössä. Opiskelijan osallistuminen opintojakson ensimmäisen kerran infotunnille on suositeltavaa. Verkko-opinnot sisältävät itsenäistä opiskelua, oppimistehtäviä verkossa ja oppimispäiväkirjan.
