Objective

You become familiar with the Finnish service system for child protection and legislation.
You identify different life situations of children and families and are able to assess the need for child protection.
You know the principles of child's best interest.
You identify the stages of the child protection process.
You become familiar with the ethical principles, work orientations and methods of working with children, young people and families.

What legislation applies to child protection?
What is the service system of child protection?
What can cause the need for child protection?
What do the principles of child's best interest involve?
What is the process of client work like in child protection work?
How is child protection carried out?
What are the values and principles directing child protection?

Evaluation

Students can

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Kontaktiopetusvaihtoehto sisältää luennot, työelämätehtävän ja tentin.
Itsenäinen, ilman kontaktiopetusta sisältävä vaihtoehto, sisältää työelämätehtävät sekä tentin yleisenä tentiipäivänä.

Student workload

5 op tarkoittaa noin 135 h opiskelijan työtä. Opintopisteet jakautuvat seuraavasti:
Luennot 1 op
Itsenäinen opiskelu ja oppimistehtävät 2op
Kirjatentti 2 op

Opiskelija osaa
a. käyttää johdonmukaisesti ammattikäsitteitä
b. etsiä tietoa alan keskeisistä tiedonlähteistä
c. hahmottaa tehtäväkokonaisuuksia
d. toimia asiakkaiden, käyttäjien, kohderyhmien kanssa
e. käyttää keskeisiä oman alan malleja, menetelmiä, ohjelmistoja ja tekniikoita
f. toimia tiimin jäsenenä tavoitteellisesti
g. perustella toimintaansa oman alan eettisten periaatteiden mukaisesti

Kokonaisarviointi perustuu tentin arvosanaan. Lisäksi huomioidaan oppimistehtävät sekä aktiivisuus opintojaksolla.
