Objective

You can select evidence-based methods for health promotion on the population, community and individual levels.
You can apply different methods of health promotion to people of different ages.
You can apply the methods of health promotion in the context of social and health care services.
You are able to use the basic principles of health communication and are able to use media information in health promotion.
You are able to commit to tackling health inequalities among the population.

Content

What is meant by health promotion interventions that enhance health and social wellbeing?
What methods are utilized in the health promotion on the population level?
How do you describe methods on the community level?
What kind of methods are used in the health promotion of children, youth, and young adults, in work communities and among the ageing and elderly people.
How do you utilize nutrition and physical activity in the prevention of national diseases and the associated national recommendations?
How do you communicate in the media?
Participation in the national health promotion training day of National Institute of Health and Wellbeing.

Evaluation

Students can
a. evaluate and make critical use of multidisciplinary data in the field of expertise related to health promotion methods
c. evaluate and manage independently and successfully operations involving health promotion methods
d. be responsible for operations and systematically develop methods in health promotion
e. use new strategic approaches related to health promotion methods
in the complex and unfamiliar situations
