Objective
• You know the common national diseases, theirs risk factors, the prevention and the care.
• You can counsel the client to prevent non-communicable diseases.
• You can counsel the client to gain the appropriate the balance of the treatment.
• You can advice the client to reach an appropriate balance by nutrition, physical activity and rest.
• You know the most common medication and can counsel in that.
• You can utilize technology in the support of self-care.
Content
• What are the most common national diseases, theirs risk factors, prevention and evidence based medical care?
• How do you counsel the client to prevent these diseases?
• How do you counsel the client reach an appropriate balance of the care?
• How do you counsel the client in the medical treatment of these diseases?
• How do you use technology in the support of the clients’ self-care?
Evaluation
The student can
• logically use professional concepts, search essential epidemiological and microbiological information about and use statistic data in the prevention.
• work on the individual-, group-, community levels
• use prevention models and methods
• work as task orientated in the multidisciplinary professional team
• give reasons according the ethical principles in health promotion
