Occupational health care and public health nursing for working-age adults and the elderly (5 cr)

Objective

• you can plan, implement and evaluate the health and functional capacity of working-age adults and the elderly
• you can assess the risk factors related to the health, living conditions and life situation of the elderly and counsel the client to use the appropriate services
• you understand the structure of well-being at work and the role of occupational health care in promotion of well-being
• you can explain and obey the principles of good occupational health care practices
• you can evaluate the mutual effects between work, work communities and work environments and health of the client
• you can argue and give recommendations connected to work conditions and different personal health needs
• you can operate in multiprofessional work communities and networks
• you can follow the costs of health care and estimate the effectiveness of preventive work and early intervention
• you can counsel the client to use the appropriate services and ensure the continuity of the care

• How do you utilize welfare and health technology in health promotion of aging people and the elderly?
• How do you use the rehabilitation approach and method in public health nursing?
• How do you counsel the clients to get the appropriate social and health care services?

Study forms and methods

Opintojakson voi suorittaa työviikkopohjaisen väylän mukaisesti (sis. lähiopetustunnit, simulaatiot, tuntitehtävät ja verkkotehtävät).

Työhön integroitu oppimisväylä: Voit osoittaa osaamistasi aiemmin hankitulla korkeakouluopinnoilla tai työkokemuksella, mikäli ne vastaavat opintojakson tavoitteita. Jos haet osittaista osaamisen tunnustamista (1-4 op), lähetä vapaamuotoinen osaamisen kuvaus ja todistukset sähköpostilla opintojakson vastuuopettajalle kuukautta ennen opintojakson alkua. Koko opintojakson osaamisen tunnistaminen (5 op) haetaan E-opintotoimiston kautta.

Työhön integroidusta väylästä tulee sopia erikseen.

Timing of exams and assignments

Verkkotentti (työlääketiede 1 op) Learnissa. Hylätty tentti uusittavissa 3 kertaa. 70% vastauksista oltava oikein, jotta tentin saa läpi.
Tehtävät suoritettava hyväksytty tai 1-5. Hylättyä tehtävää on mahdollista uusia kaksi kertaa.

Oppimistehtävät ja verkkotentti.
Suoritukset arvioidaan asteikolla hyväksytty - hylätty ja 1-5. Arviointi ja arviointikriteerit tarkemmin esitelty Learnissa.

Koko opintojakson arvosanan korotus tapahtuu tentillä. Arvosanakorotus mahdollista yhden kerran ja se tulee sopia erikseen opettajan kanssa.
