Objective
You know the principles environmental sampling and learn about representative sampling in terrestrial and aquatic environments. You know how to use sampling tools used for different purposes and how the collected samples have to be handled. You are able to work in field conditions. You know the importance of occupational safety and recognize the health risks. You know the different norms and guidelines. You also understand the importance of quality assurance and documentation in sampling.

What are the norms that guide sampling?
What issues are taken into account in the sampling design?
How to ensure the quality of sampling?
What information needs to be documented?
What kind of instruments are used in sampling?
How are samples handled between sampling and analysis?
What does the occupational safety and health of sampling involve?
How to act on sampling sites?
Evaluation
Students can
a. use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations.
c. work as team members in working life expert duties and identify and describe the problems of the professional field.
e. choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices.
g. apply the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations.

Moodlessa esillä oleva materiaali, sekä opiskelijan itsenäisesti hankkima aineisto.
Study forms and methods
Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Luennot, itsenäiset harjoitukset työtehtävät ja harjoitukset.
Student workload
Lähiopetusta n. 45 tuntia, sekä opiskelijan itsenäistä työskentelyä 95 tuntia. Kokonaistyömäärä 135 tuntia.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
Certiryhmän hyväksymän näytteenottajan sertifikaattiin oikeuttavan tentin hyväksytty suorittaminen (vähintään 70% oikein). Tutkintoon vaadittavan opintojakson hyväksymiskriteeri on 50%.
