Objective

Objectives: In the third phase, the objective is to launch a new developed product or service to the market. The same team develops the product from the previous unit further. The developmental stage of the product or service needs to be sufficient enough for the introduction to the consumers. Participation in the third phase is not advisable if the product or service is not ready to be launched, or if, for example, the copyright measures prevent the launch. The development of the new product or service can be continued through further research, an internationality survey, or a wherewithal survey. A further objective of the course is to develop the team’s business operations in terms of marketing and financing.

Content

Content: The students learn to carry out business operations in a team with, for example, a designer, marketer, publicist and an engineer sharing the duties in the project. They also learn when a new product or service is ready to be launched to the market. The team can, for example, realise a project for a trade fair. At the fair, the new product or service is introduced to the consumers, and firsthand feedback is received from the customers. The team designs the exhibition stands and the brochures, and presents the new products at the fair.  The project can be taken to, for example, Milan or Shanghai, or alternatively, a sales exhibition can be arranged solely with one agreed sales chain. The product or service has to be ready, it has to have a price. It has to be available, and the customer will have to know when the product will be available for purchase or order. In projects that follow a customer – producer –model, other student teams can also act as contractors.
