Tavoitteet

You know the sources of air pollution and the air quality affected by emissions, transport and atmospheric chemistry of pollutants. You know the basic monitoring methods and can analyze the pollution level and its sources. You know the main features of national and international guidance and regulations concerning air pollution.

What are the air pollutants? Where do anthropogenic emissions come from? How are the emissions transformed and transported in the atmosphere? What are the health and environmental consequences of air pollution? How can you analyze the pollution sources chemically and mathematically? The course includes 1,5 cr mathematics applied in the subject area.

The student can a) use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations. b) evaluate information sources critically. c) work as team members in working life expert duties and identify and describe the problems of the professional field. e) choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices.
