Objective

Knowledge, understanding and proficiency of:
- major ship machinery including basics of their construction and operation.
- propulsion and electric power production on board.

Content

Propulsion systems, shaftline components, deck machinery and steering gear. Ways to electric power production on board, electric power network and electric systems. Common maintenance of ship machinery. Safe work procedures and environmental protection.

Scheduled track:
You will attend teaching and guidance sessions as specified in the schedule. (100% participation)

Independent track:
You attend your study in the multi-mode education. Degree of Deck Officer, operational level (STCW A-II/1) OR Degree of Engineer Officer, operational level (STCW A-III/1) OR Certificate of Competency: Deck Officer / Engineer Officer IS REQUIRED.
