Objective

Knowledge, understanding and proficiency of:
- practical operating information of relevant IMO conventions dealing with marine environmental protection and pollution prevention.
- precautions, methods and devices to prevent marine environment pollution.

Content

Legislations and conventions aimed for marine environmental protection.
Procedures on board to prevent pollution.
Pollution preventative equipment, systems and devices on board.
Oil Pollution Act (OPA)
Classification of dangerous liquids (GESAMP)
P&A manual
Marpol inspections
Antifouling paints

Independent track:
You attend your study in the multi-mode education. Degree of Deck Officer, operational level (STCW A-II/1) OR Degree of Engineer Officer, operational level (STCW A-III/1) OR Certificate of Competency: Deck Officer / Engineer Officer IS REQUIRED.

Blended track:
Discussion with the teacher and, where appropriate, PSP-planning with your own mentor teacher.
