Objective

The student acquires knowledge of equipment and functions of main and auxiliary electrical systems. The student will be able to read electrical diagrams. The student understands a generator's synchronization and its coupling into a power-distribution network according to load.

Content

Generators, transformers, electric motors, frequency converters, and soft starters. Ship electrical systems and switchboards, electric screening, batteries.
