Objective
Ability to control trim, stability, and stress. Ability to calculate trim and stability after a fictitious leakage. Understanding of fundamental principles of ship construction and the theories affecting trim and stability ,and measures necessary to preserve trim and stability. Knowledge of the effect on trim and stability of a ship in the event of damage to and consequent flooding of a compartment and countermeasures to be taken.

Teaching methods
Scheduled track:
You will attend teaching and guidance sessions as specified in the schedule. Lectures in class: Vessel damage stability and buoyancy theory. Understanding of the damage ship's behavior and crew operations in damage situation and every day routines to prevent the loss of the ship's buoyancy and stability. The calculations in class and use of the training NAPA program.
Independent track:
You attend your study in the multi-mode education. Degree of Deck Officer, operational level (STCW A-II/1) OR Degree of Engineer Officer, operational level (STCW A-III/1) OR Certificate of Competency: Deck Officer / Engineer Officer IS REQUIRED.
Blended track:
