Objective
To understand the normal course and monitoring of pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium
To know how to support and promote the well-being of families with children
To be able to plan, execute and evaluate care for children and adolescents by actively utilise scientific knowledge in decision-making for nursing and care
To be able to support a physically or mentally disabled person’s ability to function and contribute
To understand one’s professional responsibility and to be able to ensure and promote patient safety

Content
Practical training in prenatal care and Internship in care for children and adolescents
Practical and simulation training, study visits (3ECTS) to different learning environments
Clinical training (6ECTS) will be performed in different care units for children and adolescents
The training includes introductory lessons (2) before the internship and reflective lessons (2) after the internship.
- Complying with the training environment’s safety and security requirements
- Updating one’s CV and outlining learning objectives before the beginning of the clinical training
- Planning one’s own work shifts according to the supervisor’s shifts
- Familiarising oneself with the operating environment
- Practising encountering, treating and guiding the client by utilising evidence-based information in accordance with the objectives
- Filling in the electronic medication passport
- Self-evaluation
Clinical training in community-centred nursing
Clinical training (6ECTS) will be undertaken in operating environments for community-centred nursing with people from different age groups and cultural backgrounds.
The training includes introductory lessons (2) before the clinical training and reflective lessons (2) after the clinical training.
