Objective
You can search data from the key social and health care databases. You can run specified searches and examine the search results in terms of how they meet your needs and, if necessary, correct your own actions. You can critically read and evaluate scientific publications, taking into account the aspects related to research ethics and reliability. You understand the principles of scientific writing and you can apply them to your thesis. You understand the concept of evidence-based practice (EBP), and its importance for social and health care You understand the information theoretical premises for research methods. You know the key research strategies and methods used in social and health care. You are familiar with the thesis process as described in Mamk instructions.

What are the basic methods of research, development and innovation used in social and health care? What are the central databases used in social and health sciences and how do you search information from them? What is evidence-based practice in social and health care? How do you read and evaluate scientific articles and studies? How do you analyze research papers and how do you make a synthesis of them? What is a Bachelor's thesis and what is the thesis process like in Mamk? What are research ethics, validity and reliability of research and how can you apply them to different types of research strategies and methods? How do you report your thesis according to the principles of scientific writing? How do you inform the appropriate target groups about your Bachelor's thesis?
