• you know the organization of health and social care in Finland, and you understand how the services are produced, offered, controlled and monitored
• you are familiar and able to comply with the main current operational policies in social and health care
• you are able to guide the client/patient to using the appropriate public and private sector social and health care services and third sector services in order to promote his/her health and well-being
• you know the significance of different treatment and service units as parts of treatment and service processes

Materials
Lecture material, the internet pages of public and private health care system, production, supervising and control in Finland. Directions of Custom's rights and feed back of the health care service system. The custom and the patient oriented approach.National social and health programmes on Social and Health Ministry page. Obligatory and recommended literature will be given.
Teaching methods
Scheduled track:
Lectures, discussions and small group exercises in the class room. Instructed reading assignment to the next lesson and discussions will be given, e.g. by using internet. The written assignment and the written exam.
Blended track:
Not in the use in this course. Individual performance with the timetable is possible.

Assessment methods and criteria
The evaluation of the student's performance is based on:
- preparation for the lectures with the given material
- participation in discussion and building the common knowledge in the class room
- orientation based on written assignment and/or exam.
The familiarizing with the objectives and content of the course is needed.
