Objective

Students can use the basic professional vocabulary actively. Students can look for information in English professional sources and apply the information in different study and work related communication situations. Students can work in English in different spoken and written communication situations of the professional field.

Content

What is the key professional vocabulary needed? How to look for information in professional English sources and how to apply the information? How to work in English spoken communication situations and how to draw up texts for professional purposes? How to communicate in study-related situations and in work communities in English?

Assessment criteria, good (3)

a) students can use professional vocabulary systematically b) students can look for information in the key information sources of the field c) Students can work together with customers, users and target groups. In addition to the UAS's students' skill levels used at MAMK, the assessment of English studies relies on the competence levels defined in The Common European Frame of Reference and the national skill level descriptions that are based on the European framework. Attending the course requires English skills enabling academic studies.
