Objective

You understand the purpose of information in the development of services and business in the hospitality field.
You can describe the main principles of knowledge-based management and implement them in hospitality business.

Content

How can the use of data improve the service business?
Which are the main priciples of knowledge-based management in hospitality business?
How can the data flows in the organization be described and information applied in management and development?
The course involves a practical project with a case company or organization (3 ECTS credits).

Evaluation

Students can
use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations.

Study forms and methods

Lukujärjestyspohjainen toteutusvaihtoehto sisältää verkko- ja lähiopetusta lukujärjestyksen mukaisesti.

Verkkovälitteinen toteutusvaihtoehto mahdollistaa koko opintojakson suorittamisen verkkovälitteisesti.

Itsenäinen/ nopeutettu toteutustapa: Keskustele toteutustavasta opintojakson opettajan kanssa opintojakson alussa.

Työelämään integroitu toteutustapa: Jos työskentelet alan yrityksessä tai muussa organisaatiossa, voit suorittaa opintojakson työpaikallasi joko kokonaan tai osittain. Tällöin ole yhteydessä opintojakson alussa opintojakson opettajaan ja sovi opinnollistamisesta. Oppiminen edellyttää, että työssäsi perehdyt opintojaksolla käsiteltäviin teemoihin ja hallitset ne sekä teoriassa että käytännössä

RDI and work-related cooperation

Opintojaksolla tehdään työelämäyhteistyöprojekti 2-3 hengen ryhmissä. Laajuus 3 op. Yhteistyöyritystä/-hanketta voi etsiä jo ennen opintojakson alkua. Projektin aiheena on MaRa-alan organisaation tiedonkulun kuvaaminen sekä tiedon soveltaminen palvelujen ja liiketoiminnan johtamisessa ja kehittämisessä.

Timing of exams and assignments

Ei tenttiä. Opintojakso suoritetaan tehtävien avulla. Tehtävät on tehtävä määräaikojen puitteissa.
