Objective

• you understand the interactions of various factors connected to state of mental health among children and young people
• you know what mental health services there are available for children and young people
• you can identify the children’s and young people’s needs connected to mental health and are able to guide them to promotive services
• you understand the meaning of educational institution environments in the mental health work among children and young people and know how to promote mental health by developing these environments
• you know how to encounter children and young people and their guardians with respect and how to build up mental health promoting relationship with them

Content

- what factors are connected to mental health among children and young people?
- what kind of mental health promoting services there are for children and young people?
- what kind of interactions factors of mental health have to each other?
- how can I promote the mental health of children and young people in the environments of educational institutions?
- how can I identify the children’s and young people’s needs connected to mental health?
- how I encounter a child/youngster in order to promote her/his mental health by our interaction style?
- how I build up respective interaction with the guardians of the child/youngster

Evaluation

a. use professional vocabulary systematically

e. work as team members in a goal-oriented way.
f. justify own actions according to the ethical principles of the professional field.
